Modern Ireland is very different from the traditional image of priests, peat bogs, and poverty. Today, Ireland is a progressive, tech-driven, multicultural European nation. 🐯 The Celtic Tiger (1995-2008)
Ireland's economy exploded in the late 1990s. GDP grew by 6-10% per year. Unemployment fell from 16% to 4%. For the first time in 200 years, young Irish people did not have to emigrate. American tech giants — Intel (1989), Microsoft, Google, Apple, Facebook — chose Ireland as their European base because of the low corporate tax rate (12.5%) and English-speaking workforce.
💻 Silicon Docks

- 2018: Abortion legalised by referendum (66% Yes)
- 2019: Blasphemy decriminalised
These changes were driven by young people, the decline of the Catholic Church's influence, and exposure to global culture through the tech boom.

Today, Dublin rents are among Europe's highest. Many young professionals live with their parents into their 30s or commute from distant towns. "I'll never own a home" is a common phrase among Irish millennials.
Irlanda Moderna
Over the past twenty years, Dublin has become a European technology hub. Major companies like Google and Facebook established their European...
