Going to vs Will

Going to = plans/intentions (decided before). Will = spontaneous decisions/predictions. No British English, 'shall' ainda é usado para sugestões formais: 'Shall we go?'

I'm going to study medicine.

Eu te ajudo com isso! (decisão espontânea)

It's going to lash rain.
